How to Make Easter Bunnies from Round Boxes

Supplies:

1.3 round paper mache boxes - 3 inch, 4 inch and 5 inch sizes

2.felt or fun foam - small amounts of black, pink, yellow and white

3.craft paint in white or off white, several shades of green

4.small flowers

5.blush makeup for cheeks

6.chenille stem

7.tulle netting

8.1 pompom for the tail

9.wide ribbon for the bow

10.small piece of white yarn

Instructions:

1. Print and cut out the rabbit pattern pices. Trace the pieces onto felt in the appropriate colors and cut out.

2. Paint the top two smaller boxes in white or off white.

3. Paint the bottom box and the side of its lid in green. Paint the top of the lid in a different lighter green. Once the paint is dry, paint some contrasting green lines at the bottom of box to represent grass.

4. On the small box, which is the bunny's head, glue on two small black circles for eyes, or use "google" eyes. Cut a small heart from felt for the nose and glue in place. With black paint, draw on a smile beneath the bunny's nose. For the ears, brush on a bit of blusher, shake off any extra residue and glue in place. Brush a little more pink blush on either side of the pink pompom nose to create cheeks.

5. If you wish the bunny to hold a butterfly net, as shown in our photo, then form a loop at the end of a chenille stem and glue on a piece of netting to make a net. Decide on the placement of the bunny arms, then glue the net in position under one arm. Now glue both arms in place.

6. Cut four hearts of two different sizes. Glue the smaller hearts on top of the larger ones then glue in place as buttons.

7. Make a bow tie from wide ribbon and glue in place above the buttons.

8. On the bottom of the box, glue the feet in place. The feet will extend past the lid line, so make sure keep the glue below this point to ensure the lid can easily be taken off and replaced. See the small photo, above right, for details.

9. Glue a big white pompom on the back for the tail.

10. Fill the bunny with Easter candies. Suggestion:When Easter is over, just store the boxes inside each other and put away until next year - although my daughter already want our bunny to keep her jewellery in!

How to make Easter Bunny Jelly Bean Bag

Supplies:

1.plastic bag

2.popsicle stick or craft stick

3.one 2 inch white pompoms

4.two small tan pompoms

5.small amounts of pink and white craft fun foam

6.one medium white pompom

7.one tiny red pompom

8.one white bumpy chenille stem

9.one pink chenille stem

10.7mm goggle eyes

Jelly Bean BunnyInstructions:

1. You will have to enlarge the patan for feet and hands. Print and cut out the two pattern pieces then trace onto white fun foam. Cut out two feet and two hands.

2. Cut the bumpy chenille stem so that there are two bumps on the stem. Fold the stem in half so that the two bumps are together and the folded part of the stem is at the top. Now with the pink chenille stem, cut a piece that is about the length of the bumpy stem. Glue in the center of the two bumpy stem ears. This makes one of the bunny's ears; make another one and set both ears aside.

3. On the 2 inch pompom, the bunny's head, glue on the two tan pompoms together for the cheeks. You can also use white, but I thought that it would be hard to see. Glue the tiny pink pompom on top of the two tan pompoms as a nose, then add a tiny red pompom below for the tongue.

4. Don't forget the bunny's eyes, which should be glued above the nose.

5. Glue the two ears on top of the 2 inch pompom head. On mine, one of the ears fell to the side but I left it there, because he looked kinda cute with the one floppy ear.

6. Glue a popsicle or craft stick to the bunny head. If you don't have a stick, you can use a straw.

7. Hopefully, you will have a plastic bag that is suitable in size for the bunny's tummy. If your bag is a little long, cut it down to fit. Fill the bag with jelly beans, leaving enough room so that you can tie the bag closed at the top. Wrap the thin ribbon around the top of the bag and make a bow in the front - but don't tie it too tightly, as you need to insert the bunny's head in the next step!

8. Place the stick attached to the bunny's head into the top of the bag, wiggling it through the bag opening and the jelly beans. When you have it down, put a little glue on the pompom head and push down on the top of the bag.

9. For the feet, use a paper punch to punch out six pink circles of fun foam. Glue these to the feet for toes. Also cut two little pink ovals out of fun foam for the heels. Glue the feet to the front bottom of the jelly bean bag.

10. Glue the white hands to the sides of the bag. Now you have a cute bunny bag! Oops - don't forget to glue the white medium pompom to the back for his tall. You can change the colors around for a boy. Enjoy!

How to make Easter Washcloth Bunny

Supplies:

1.washcloth - a large baby washcloth is ideal

2.rubber band

3.two small black pompoms or plastic, movable eyes

4.one small pink pompom

5.one medium white pompom

6.small amount of thin ribbon or yarn

optional: small silk flower

Washcloth Easter BunnyInstructions:

1. Lay the washcloth on a table. Roll one corner, diagonally, into the middle. Roll the opposite corner in the same way, so that both rolls meet in the middle.

Fold the rolled washcloth in half, as shown in the photo at right.

2. Hold the two sides together and fold the two ends backwards, over the top. Fasten a rubber band around the front area to form the head. Fluff out the two ends to make bunny ears. This photo shows a side view of the bunny so far.

3. Glue the white pompom to the back, to make the bunny's tail. Glue two small black pompoms in place as eyes.

Glue a small pink pompom below the eyes as the nose.

Fasten thin ribbon around the bunny's neck and tie it in a small bow. If desired, glue a small silk flower in the middle of the bow.

4. Your washcloth Easter bunny is finished now. But, wait - where's the Easter egg?

Slip an Easter egg into the open circle at the back of the bunny, behind the ears. You should find that the bunny will hold the Easter egg in place quite well.

Now all you need to do is set your bunny in a hiding place, ready for the Easter egg hunt.

How to Make Tissue Paper Valentine Cards

Tissue Paper Valentine CardsWhat You Need:

1.white card stock or construction paper

2.red or pink tissue paper

3.white glue

4.small, sharp, pointed scissors

optional: clear adhesive vinyl

Tissue Paper Valentine CardsInstructions:

1. Prepare the card stock or construction paper base. The cards shown in this project are four inches square, made from a 4 inch by 8 inch rectangle, folded in half.

2. Cut a square of tissue paper just a little smaller than the front of your card.

3. Fold the square in half, then in half again, forming a smaller square. Now grasp the corner where the folds meet and fold it diagonally to meet the opposite corner, forming a triangle.

4. Use sharp, pointed scissors to cut out designs in the folded triangle, making sure each cut goes through all the layers. To form a heart-shaped design, cut out half of a heart shape against a fold. If desired, round off or cut curving lines along the top of the triangle to make the final opened shape a little less square.

5. Carefully open your design and flatten it out with your fingertips.

6. Apply a thin circle of white glue to the center of your card. Center the cut out design over the glue and press the middle section down very gently. Hold up one side of the design, apply a thin layer of glue beneath it and press down, working from the center outwards. Repeat until the design is glued down completely.

7. Allow your tissue paper card to dry. If the card stock bends a little out of shape as it dries, weigh it down under a heavy book for a while to straighten it out.

Tips:

-- Experiment a little with the cut out designs; a little practice in snipping and cutting will help you improve the final version.

-- Try a reverse design using red card stock and white tissue paper or other lightweight paper.

How to make Heart Shaped Valentine Pin Cushion

Valentine Pin Cushion Supplies:

1.heart shaped tin or box, with or without a lid, OR a plastic coffee jar lid

2.scrap yarn

3.crochet hook or knitting needles

4.craft glueo

ptional: Valentine ribbon to fit around the lid or tin

Valentine Pin CushionInstructions:

1. Choose your container and measure the depth. If you have a container with a lid, you will make the center to match this depth, as shown in our heart-shaped pin cushion. If the container has no lid, such as the coffee jar lid shown in our photo, you can make the center just a little deeper so that it sticks out just above the top of the lid.

2. Crochet a base chain, or cast on enough stitches, to make the knitted or crocheted piece to the depth that you will need.

3. If crocheting, single crochet across the base chain, turn, and repeat single crochet rows until you have enough length to roll into a circle that will generously fill your container. If knitting, knit plain rows to the desired length, then cast off. Your work, at this point, will look like a miniature scarf.Be a little generous with the length. Ideally, you will need to compress it a little to fit into the container so that the finished pin cushion is full and snug all around.

4. Do a test fit by rolling the knitted or crocheted piece into a circle and compressing it with your fingers to fit into your container. The circle should be full enough to expand into the arches of the heart shape when you remove your fingers. If you turn the jar lid or heart shaped box upside down, the center should be snug enough to stay in place and not fall out.

5. Remove the center and apply glue to the bottom and sides of the tin or lid. Replace the knitted or crocheted center as above, compressing it with your fingers to get it to fit. Push it down gently into the glue, making sure it is even across the top.

6. If desired, glue a length of Valentine ribbon around the outside of the jar lid, and add a few dress maker's pins to the pin cushion.

How to make Floral Washcloth Soap

Sometimes you need a homemade gift that isn't too over the top - a token housewarming gift for a new neighbour, perhaps; a little something to say you care, or a small pick-me-up for someone in need of good cheer.

This little craft project fits the bill; it also makes a nice bazaar craft for funddraising at your school or church. If you don't have the supplies on hand, a quick trip to the dollar store will get all you need at very little cost.

What You Will Need:

1.two washcloths - one white, one colored

2.bar of soap

3.one main silk flower with leaves, plus a few sprigs of delicate floral accents such as baby's breath

4.thin ribbon

5.hot glue and glue sticks

Project Instructions:

1. Lay the white washcloth on a table. Fold the left side over an inch or so, then double over again, and once again if required, until the folded side meets the center of the washcloth. Repeat with the right side.

2. Fold the colored washcloth in the same manner as the white one, but make it about about one inch narrower from side to side .

3. Place the soap in the center of the folded white washcloth - the sides of the washcloth should be even with the sides of the soap. Fold the bottom edge of the washcloth up to meet the top edge, enclosing the bar of soap in the middle.

4. Fold the colored washcloth over the white washcloth, as shown in our photo.

5. Secure the soap in the middle of the washcloths by tying thin ribbon around the washcloths, just above the soap. Tie the ribbon in a small bow, leaving the two ends to trail down.

6. Use just a small amount of hot glue to secure your choice of small floral accents, such as baby's breath, in the center of the ribbon bow. Don't use too much hot glue; if the glue spills over onto the washcloth it will be very hard to remove.

7. Finally, use another spot of hot glue to secure your main flower to the smaller floral accents.

How to make Floral Air Freshener

Floral Air FreshenerSupplies:

1.round air freshener in a plastic casing
2.small piece of pregathered lace trim
3.silk carnation or similar silk flower
4.baby's breath or similar small floral decorations
5.narrow ribbon to make a bow
6.glue gun and glue sticks

Project Instructions:

1. If the air freshener has a clear plastic wrapping, remove the wrapper. Heat up the glue gun and glue the pregathered lace trim around the top of the air freshener, so that the edge of the lace is lined up around the edge of the air freshener. Apply glue only to the top of the lace, which will be hidden by the flower.

2. Center the carnation on top of the lace and glue in place.

3. Glue one or two sprigs of baby's breath, or other small silk flowers, under one section of the carnation.

4. Make a bow from thin ribbon, and glue the bow just underneath the baby's breath.
